About the team
This role is located within the business division of the SMB team of Marktplaats and 2dehands. The NLBE sales team consists of a group of young, energetic and dynamic people. Our team focuses on enabling Small and Medium sized businesses (SMB's) to become successful on our platforms. SMB’s are true creators and passionate people who can enrich the lives of buyers with their unique and local products. More than 80 thousand SMB's are currently active on our platforms.

About the role
As a new business manager you are responsible for the acquisition of our biggest prospects for our SMB propositions. Marktplaats is a perfect platform for large entrepreneurs to further grow their business. We are looking for someone who gets energy to take entrepreneurs along in your conviction that working together is interesting for both parties. Conversations will be held via online and physical meetings.

By means of cold and warm acquisition you know how to approach entrepreneurs who want to grow their business by placing their product ads on Marktplaats. It is important to understand the entrepreneur's objectives and to adjust the conversation accordingly.

Through our Marktplaats Pro proposition you give them the opportunity to connect with millions of consumers on our platform. We provide you with the sales and data tools to make your role a success.

Within this role you are part of the SMB sales team and report to the Head of Sales SMB.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new business targets
  • Responsible for achieving quarterly and annual sales target
  • Responsible for filling the acquisition pipeline through different (new) sources
  • Be able to have different types of commercial conversations (business owners - commercial directors)
  • Convince companies why a partnership has mutual interest
  • Understand decision making processes around sales/marketing budgets of our customers
  • Gather market insights to deliver (internal) value for improvements

Job requirements

  • Bachelor or master degree with a commercial specialization
  • 4+ years experienced in cold acquisition
  • 3+ years experience in E-commerce and or media landscape
  • Fluent in Dutch as well in English
